Sean Patrick
(b. 1990)
I explore the relationship between humanity and time. My work is inspired by prehistoric cultures, ancient artifacts, and the enduring presence of the human spirit throughout history. I am drawn to forms that feel both ancient and timeless. Rather than depicting a specific culture or moment, I seek to evoke our shared human story.
I am fascinated by the lives of the people who came before us. Though separated by thousands of years, their hopes, fears, beliefs, and curiosity are not so different from our own. The fragments they left behind—tools, carvings, monuments, and symbols—offer glimpses into lives that are both distant and familiar. My work grows from a desire to bridge that distance and to reflect on the continuity of the human experience.
History is often understood through dates and events, but it is ultimately a story about people. Looking deeply into humanity's past offers perspective on the present and reminds us of what endures, despite constant change. I hope my work invites viewers to slow down and consider their own place within the much larger continuum of human existence.
A lifelong artist, with works in private collections in the USA, UK, Germany, Australia, Canada, The Cayman Islands, Sweden, and France.
